1.1 General information on data protection

In the course of our activities, data is collected and stored at various points, through various programmes and services. This happens, for example, when you use the contact form or Google Analytics saves your IP address in order to provide us with aggregated information about your behaviour on the website. We will go into more detail about the various "data collectors" below.

1.1.1.1 Personal data and their collection

Of course, we handle all our data with care, but with regard to the GDPR, personal data is particularly relevant. This includes name, address, telephone number, etc., but also your IP address and possibly even user names. In other words, everything that can be used to identify you as a person. Not included, however, is data that points to a company or organisation. When passing on your information on our website, e.g. via the contact form or the comment function etc., please make sure yourself what information you wish to pass on: For example, do not write sensitive data in the comment function or do not share critical data with us via the contact form.

1.1.1.2 Purpose of the data processing

Data processing serves various purposes, which are also discussed in detail below. Basically, we use the data within the scope of customer contact and order fulfilment, the provision of our offer and our services online as well as the improvement of these. Data is also used within the scope of our marketing.

1.1.1.3 Data processing by third parties

As part of our online offer and e.g. for a better user experience, we use various third-party providers to provide content or services on the website, such as videos, fonts, etc.. These third-party providers process your IP address in order to be able to correctly play out the content on our website. The various instances are discussed individually below. It may also happen that they are located in countries outside of Switzerland or even the EU. However, we make sure that the data protection requirements are met. Under certain circumstances, these third-party providers may also set cookies or pixel tags with which they process information such as user behaviour and other information and may also link this information to information from other sources. Detailed information can be found in the following points. Exceptionally, data may be passed on to third parties if this is necessary to pursue our claims or if there is a legal obligation.

1.1.1.4 Deletion and revocation

The collected data will either be deleted for a specific purpose or stored until revoked, provided that it is not subject to the retention obligation. Details on the deletion request and storage can be found at the respective points. You are welcome to contact info@esatechnologies.ch for information and deletion requests.

1.2 Contacting ESATechnologies

Our website offers you various ways to contact us, such as forms or the comment function. The information you provide will be stored and used to process your request and for further customer relations. The data will also be stored for internal purposes (e.g. evaluation, tracking and documentation) and any further contact (for further customer support, follow-up, obtain evaluation, etc.). For internal purposes, this data is therefore also stored after a termination of the cooperation until explicit revocation. We also take the liberty of storing notes on explicitly unwanted contact in order to prevent such contact. Please do not pass on any information that you do not want us or others (especially in the public comment function!) to receive. Therefore, please do not send us sensitive data such as credit card information by email or contact form, but by phone. If you do not want to use the form or email, you can contact us by phone. If you want certain information to be deleted, please contact us directly via info@esatechnologies.ch Your data can be stored in various places, for example: in the email program, on the website, in the backup, in our CRM program or the server of our hoster securely stored.

1.2.1 Contact form and email

All information that you send us via the contact form or by email is processed as described above. The data sent includes that which you transmit in the mandatory and voluntary fields, as well as in the message field. In addition, your IP address may be stored.

1.2.2 Comment function

With the comment functions, we enable you on the one hand to contact us, and on the other hand, above all, to discuss and comment on individual blog posts. To make the user experience more positive, we ask for a username, which also allows recognition during longer discussions. We do not ask for an avatar image. In addition, we ask for the email address to reduce fake requests on the one hand and on the other hand have a contact option, for example, in a potential customer contact or but also if we have to determine the person behind for legal reasons. In addition, the IP address is stored. Information provided in the comment field will be stored and possibly published on the website. Please make sure that you do not publish any sensitive data. You are also welcome to use a fictitious username. Your comments will be stored on our website and backed up. As an important part of the content, the comments are stored/published for an unlimited period of time. In case of deletion or change requests, please contact info@esatechnologies.ch If we recognize in a comment the need to contact you (potential customer, other request or questions / support / service), the information will be processed as described in the point "Contact".

1.3 Google Services & Privacy

This website uses various services provided by Google LLC, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Below is an overview of the most important pages concerning the data protection of Google products: - General information on data protection: Data protection declaration of Google
- Tips on the individual products
- Use of cookies at Google
- Data protection & advertising tools of Google
- Setting for advertisements
Please also check the data protection settings of your own Google account - here you have the possibility to instruct Google exactly which data it may collect as soon as you are logged in with your Google account.

1.3.1 Google Analytics

1.3.1.1 What data does Google Analytics record and how?

This website uses Google Analytics. Google Analytics uses cookies. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) will be transmitted to and stored by Google on servers in the United States. Google will use this information for the purpose of evaluating your use of the website, compiling reports on website activity for website operators and providing other services relating to website activity and internet usage. Google may also transfer this information to third parties where required to do so by law, or where such third parties process the information on Google's behalf. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. By using this website, you consent to the processing of data about you by Google in the manner and for the purposes set out above (Google Analytics Terms and Conditions). Any personal data will be deleted or anonymised after 14 months. Under the following link you will find various information on data protection at Google.

1.3.1.2 IP Masking / Anonymisation

As the website operator, we have also arranged for your IP to be anonymised. Thanks to IP masking, your IP address is changed in such a way that no conclusion can be drawn about your person. This means that all other data such as location, etc. can also be recorded in such a way that they cannot be linked to you as a person without an IP address. We use the aggregated, anonymised data from Google Analytics, for example, to improve website performance or to evaluate our marketing activities.

1.3.1.3 How to prevent tracking by Google: Browser Addon

If you do not wish to be tracked via Google Analytics on this website or on other websites, you can download an addon for various browsers at https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. You can find more information on how to use this addon at https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/gajs/#disable.

1.3.1.4 Google Tag Manager

This website uses Google Tag Manager. Google Tag Manager is a solution that allows marketers to manage website tags through one interface. The Tag Manager tool itself (which implements the tags) is a cookie-less domain and does not collect any personal data. The tool triggers other tags, which in turn may collect data. Google Tag Manager does not access this data. If a deactivation has been made at the domain or cookie level, this remains in place for all tracking tags implemented with Google Tag Manager. http://www.google.ch/tagmanager/use-policy.html

1.3.2 Google Fonts

The website uses Google Fonts. In order to be able to integrate the fonts used, a connection is established with the Google server when the website is called up, which returns the correct font. The connection allows Google to retrieve and process certain data. Information on this can be found on the following pages: - Data protection
- Terms of use
- Opt out

1.3.3 Youtube

We integrate videos from YouTube. You can find information on which data this service processes at:
- Privacy policy of Google
- Terms of use of YouTube
- Opt out
We make sure to embed the videos with the extended data protection function.

1.4 Social media and data protection

In today's world, social media channels such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram & Co. are important in areas such as marketing & analysis, customer acquisition, customer care and customer service. We therefore also rely on the offers of various social networks. For each interaction (see below for details) with the social channels, the data protection provisions of the respective operators must be applied; the most important ones are listed below:
- Facebook, profile settings
- Twitter opt out
- Pinterest
- YouTube terms of use
- Instagram
There you will also find information on data protection settings for the respective accounts. Some social media networks record various information as long as you are logged in as a user, e.g. which websites are accessed. Details on this can be found in the individual data protection and terms of use of the respective social network. If you would like to prevent this, please check your data protection settings of the respective operator. You can also log out of the network and delete their cookies.

1.4.1 Social media on our websites

On our websites, you will find various places where you can interact with social media channels and, for example, share content. If you use the share functions and in particular if you are logged in with your account of the respective social channel, various information is sent to the operator of the channel or tapped by them and linked to your user account. The third-party providers may also set cookies. Please refer to the respective data protection regulations and settings (see above). Please note that the social networks can, for example, track your browsing behaviour as long as you are logged in.

1.5.2 Communication on social media channels

In the context of marketing measures, customer loyalty and customer service, communication and, where applicable, data exchange also takes place on various social networks, such as our Facebook page. The data protection provisions of the respective channels also apply here (see above for details). In the interest of your data protection, we ask you not to send us any sensitive data within these channels (e.g. as a comment), as we have no influence on how the individual networks handle this data. Instead, we will be happy to contact you directly by email or telephone. If you provide us with information about you and your request (e.g. name, contact details, etc.) within the social networks that is relevant for us and our business activities (e.g. for contacting and initiating a customer relationship, support requests, etc.), we will process this as described in the section "Contacting".
